The Jersey Shore is a beautiful and expansive stretch of shoreline going on for more than 125 miles of scenic Atlantic Ocean coastal beauty. The residents of the many exclusive Jersey Shore communities stretching from Belmar to Lavalette have a special relationship to these waters and deep connection to their nautical past. The many yacht clubs and boating organizations that dot the Jersey Shore are a prime example of this proud heritage and each one has a proud history of their own. Today, we thought we'd take you on a quick tour of some of Monmouth and Ocean County's more established and popular yacht clubs.
Bay Head Yacht Club
111 Metcalfe Street, Bay Head, NJ - Established on September 8, 1888, the yacht club would be the first clubhouse in the area built on pilings, right at the head of Barnegat Bay. The clubhouse features one of the best panoramic views of the sparkling bay. Two of the buildings that make up the Yacht club have been included in the New Jersey registry of historic buildings. Several of buildings are available for rent, an ideal locale for wedding and other social events.
The Crystal Point
3900 River Road, Point Pleasant, NJ - Considered by many to be the most exquisite waterfront banquet facility throughout Monmouth and Ocean Counties, the Crystal Point is truly the epitome of luxury and an idyllic setting for a wedding or any other social event. Manasquan River Yacht Club
405 Riverview Lane, Brielle, NJ - Celebrating its 100-year anniversary back in 1999, the Manasquan River Yacht Club is a treasured institution for residents along this stretch of the Jersey Shore. The club was established with the stated mission of promoting sailing and other sports; it continues that proud tradition to this day. The modern club offers celebrated junior sailor courses, as well as high-quality tennis facilities and a calendar full of events for members.
Mantoloking Yacht Club
Downer Ave. & Bay Ave., Mantoloking, NJ - Taking full advantage of its position on the Barnegat Peninsula, the Mantoloking Yacht Club is a truly family-focused institution dating back to the 1890s. It has a well-regarded junior sailing program that has proudly produced a stable of successful athletes. From May to October, the club hosts of a full calendar of events that includes tennis, sailing and a host of other social events not to be missed.
Ocean Beach Marina
3245 Route 35 South, Lavallette, NJ - In addition to the Lavalette location, there are two other Ocean Beach Marina centers in Lanoka Harbor and Sea Isle City. The marina offers visitors great access several nearby marine destinations along the Jersey Shore including Tices Shoal, Silver Bay and F-Cove. The destination is renowned for a relaxed atmosphere and friendly faces. The marine centers also boast full maintenance facilities run by qualified technicians as well as a range of boat rentals.
Spring Lake Bath & Tennis Club
1 Jersey Ave, Spring Lake, NJ - Founded in 1898, this yacht club has a long history of providing a fun, family-friendly environment to locals. Adjacent to the renowned Spring Lake boardwalk, the club features a world-class clubhouse with large ballroom and several banquet halls. The grounds feature 10 Har-Tru Tennis Courts and a large Olympic-sized salt water pool as well as private nearby beach/ocean access reserved for members.
