5) iPlay America's Spooky Spectacular - Freehold, NJ

A full weekend of fun halloween-themed events designed to be enjoyed by the whole family! Check out the interactive dance that kicks off the festivities on Friday night with plenty of games and prizes to be won. 4) Nightmare at Gravity Hill - Jackson, NJ

Nearby Communities: Wall Township, Belmar, Manasquan.

Get ready to run, so make sure to bring comfortable shoes. The 35-45 minute haunted walking trail has the potential to scare you right out of your boots! Be prepared to encounter dozens of scary scenes featuring the children of the night from the depth of your childhood nightmares. Admission is only $20.

3) The Dark Canival - Bayville, NJ

Nearby Communities: Mantoloking, Lavallette.

In the tradition of the great American sideshow, the curious can experience a fascinating selection of freaks and oddities like you've never seen. Housed in a 7000 square-foot octagonal arena, guests will wander through the carnival tent encountering the event's stable of trained costumed performers. Prepare for a dose of the fascinating, unusual and downright terrifying. The event runs every weekend through the month of October, admission is $15 for adults, $8 for children for each attraction.

2) Scary Rotten Farms - Brick, NJ

Nearby Communities: Mantoloking, Lavallette.

Actually made up of two separate events; thrill-seekers can check out Sinister Sneed's Chaotic Carnival of Chaos and The Forbidden, the inbred and nearly dead! The event is $15 per person, or $25 for a combo pass. The carnival is a terrifying fair hosted by a host of helpless souls enslaved by the devil.

Perhaps even more terrifying, the Forbidden is a chilling walk-through of Miller's Mill, a seemingly idyllic summertime dream camp, but you'll soon discover appearances can be deceiving! Both events run each Friday and Saturday night in October, and every night of the week leading up to Halloween.

1) Camp Evans Base of Terror - Wall Township, NJ

Nearby Communities: Manasquan, Spring Lake, Sea Girt.

Set on a one-hundred-year-old abandoned military base, the facility was once used for top-secret experiments into radio, radar, satellite and more. For the month of October, the base has been transformed into an interactive horror extravaganza. Come explore further, if you dare. The attraction is open every Friday and Saturday night in October from 7 top 11pm, admission is $17, with a special group rate of $12 per person for groups of 10 or more.
